I feel concerned that there might be some dishonesty when some are playing the anagram mania game. I can hold my own, so I am not concerned for myself, but rather for those who are struggling to learn the game. It appears that some are at the very top all the time. While I haven't a problem with that, and do not take issue with that per se, it's the minimal amount of time it takes them to reach the highest number of words. Whether something can be done about same, I'm not sure. It's discouraging to check the game first thing in the morning and the same few folks have maxed out. Just my thoughts.
Another thing I think could be improved on with anagrams is the way the points are given out. I think it would be a good idea to give some points if people find a certain percentage of the anagrams for a certain word. Either that, or perhaps making it so that for every x amount of words, you win x amount of points. Like 20 extra points for every 50 anagrams found for example. It's pretty frustrating when you work for several hours to get as many words as possible, and then only to have all of that go to waist. As far as cheating goes, you can't really control that I don't think. There will always be people that cheat and ways to cheat no matter what you do.
hmm, the only way from not cheeting is if it could be possible to pick someone to give the points too, per day? so that everyone gets a chance? like a raffle draw say. At least then, everyoen would be in with an honest chance......
I guess u could do that, but then there wouldn't be any competition if the points were given out in a lottery type deal. It's just too bad a very few people, maybe even just one, feels that the have to cheat because they can't compete with the rest of us. But hey, if that person has to cheat to try and boost their self asteme, I say good for them. I'm not going to fret over it too much since it's only a game.
I agree with you. It's a shame that anyone would stoop to such a level just to prove how good they think they are. Don't people realize that it's not hard to spot a dishonest person. It took me hours and hours to get the words today. It's not an easy thing to do. I'm not worried either, but I feel badly that others who honestly work hard never reach the top.
I don't know why anyone cares whether someone is cheating or not, I don't. I mean, it is their problem if they cheat, not mine. I do notice that most of these comments are from people who are right at the top. I just play because it is fun, and not to prove anything. I usually don't even finish because it gets boring to try to think of words after awhile. Why take issue with any of it, why not just enjoy and play for your own reasons?
I was suspicious of these cheats at the top of the board every day too, and I went on the hunt for a programme I was convinced they must be using. If you type in scrabble word finder into your search engine, you'll throw up a few ideas and you'll soon see how they've done it. I saw today they were all one short of the target, and I looked at a piece of software I'd found, and it threw out all 157 answers, so I took great pleasure in listing them all and overtaking all the cheats just for today!
I won't use this again, at least not until i have exhausted my brain power and become curious the next day. I find it good fun and a personal challenge to see how many I can find myself.
Good idea on points for every 50 words found, and I suggested a random number between 75 and 100% could be made the next day, and the person closest to that, wins.

I notice in reading these messages that some of the main complaining being done is by people who consistently remain in leading positions. Scores reflect the same or within one or two points. Also, the computer rolls the names over so that often the first person to receive the high score is bumped by another receiving the same score later. For example in today's word "monolithic" Star had 156 points first, then the next three players who had the same score bumped her so that she appeared to be coming in at a low lead.
Ya. There's no particular order to the listing. I think whoever starts play first would be on top in a tie, but I'm not totally sure.
I miss the anagram, it's the only thing on here that I really like a lot. it's just that I am not interested in chatting or anything like that, there are just certain games that I like, and anagrams happens to be one of them! I wait every night for it, and I am very disappointed when it doesn't come up.
Some of you say that the cheating doesn't bother you. Well, I'm here to admit that it does bother me. I haven't had time to play anagrams lately, but when I do, I hate it when I see the same five names at the top almost every day. One time when I did get all the answers, I bumped someone else off the list but only until the next person came along and got all the answers, and then my name was bumped off. I generally log in early in the morning, and it is discouraging to see five people have already gotten all the answers. Then even if I am able to get all of them later in the day, my name never makes it onto the list. Maybe if the top 10 instead of the top 5 leaders could be listed?
I also think maybe the few known cheaters should be limited as to how many times they can play per week so that others have a chance. There is no shame in getting only half of a large number of anagrams, but if the cheaters have their names at the top every single day, no one will bother to look to see who else came close.
Finally, there is the issue of cheating itself. These people obviously have no life if they have the time to sit and generate the answers every day just to make themselves look smart. Obviously they have no other way to show off. I like the mental challenge of trying to find as many words as possible, and I feel I would be cheating myself out of the challenge if I just looked up the answers.
really don't care if people cheat, I play for myself, and for my own amusement. For me, cheating would take the fun away because then I would just be moving words from one place to another without thinking of them. I don't know that people are cheating, even if they consistently win, they might just be especially good at playing. I just get tired of coming up here and finding no anagram! What's up with that anyway, are they discontinuing the game or what? I'm beginning to get really pissed off about this, it's been two days now without anyy anagram, and the one before that stunk because it only had 28 words, or maybe it was the one before that! Anyway I hope we get it back soon!
Beach Baby won it today. Good to see someone new atop the list for a change. Grrr.
would really be nice if the anagram was put on when it is usually, meaning at ten P.M. PST! I really hate when I go there and there is no word! My husband and I both love to play it, and when there isn't one we might have to do something kinky, like touch each other!
